What's the difference between NewDoc and Abby Health?
Both are Australian telehealth services that bulk bill most consultations for eligible Medicare cardholders, so for many patients the cost is similar. The clearer difference is the care model: NewDoc uses FRACGP-qualified, Australian-trained GPs exclusively, while Abby's team includes both GPs and nurse practitioners.
Per Abby's help centre, a small number of its services sit outside bulk billing (from $9.95, or from $27 for non-Medicare and private consults, shown up front). NewDoc bulk bills the consultation, eScript, mental health care plan, and any same-visit referral at $0 for eligible cardholders, with a private fee for patients without Medicare eligibility.
NewDoc vs Abby Health at a glance
NewDoc and Abby Health are both AHPRA-registered Australian telehealth services, and both sit in the bulk-billing lane: each bulk bills most telehealth consultations under Medicare for eligible cardholders. That makes them closer on cost than many other comparisons. The more useful distinction is who you see and what is included.
The table below compares the two on the dimensions that drive the actual cost and experience of a visit. Comparison data verified as at 25 June 2026.

What we can and can't compare
For the dimensions Abby publishes on its public site (bulk-billing arrangement, the use of GPs and nurse practitioners, that some services sit outside bulk billing from $9.95, and private consults from $27) we can compare directly. Abby does not publicly itemise a full per-product price list or its mental health care plan pricing, so for those we describe NewDoc's offering and note where Abby's information is not publicly listed rather than guessing.
Verify both before booking
