What every consult includes
Unlike some telehealth providers that charge separately for scripts, certificates, or referrals, NewDoc includes all GP services delivered during your appointment at a single price. There are no add-on fees, no per-document charges, and no surprises.
Your consultation is conducted by an AHPRA-registered General Practitioner with FRACGP fellowship. During a single appointment, your GP may issue prescriptions as eScripts sent directly to your phone, provide medical certificates emailed to you, write specialist referral letters, order pathology or imaging investigations, assess mental health concerns and create a care plan, or provide general medical advice and management guidance.
All of the above is covered by the consultation fee or bulk bill. There is no additional cost for any document or service delivered during the appointment.
How NewDoc pricing compares
Many telehealth services in Australia charge separately for individual items. For example, some providers charge a consultation fee plus an additional fee for each script, certificate, or referral letter. This can make the total cost unpredictable.
NewDoc takes a different approach. The consultation covers everything. If your GP issues two prescriptions, a medical certificate, and a referral in the same appointment, there is no additional charge beyond the single consultation fee.
NewDoc also does not apply surcharges for evening, weekend, or public holiday appointments. Pricing is the same regardless of when you book.
Bulk billing eligibility
To access bulk billed telehealth, you need a valid Medicare card and must meet current Medicare telehealth eligibility criteria. Most Australians in metropolitan and regional areas are covered under current provisions.
NewDoc verifies your eligibility during the booking process, so you will know before your appointment whether your consultation will be bulk billed. If you are not eligible for bulk billing, the private consultation fee applies and will be shown before you confirm your booking.
If you hold a Medicare card but are not eligible for bulk billing under current provisions, you may still be able to claim a partial rebate directly from Medicare after your private consultation.
