How an eScript reaches you
eScripts have been a big step forward for prescriptions in Australia. Once a GP has seen you online and decided a medication is appropriate, the prescription is sent to you by SMS or email instead of on paper.
Using it at the pharmacy
The message carries a QR code. Show it at a pharmacy that dispenses eScripts, the pharmacist scans it, and your medication is dispensed.
You do not need to see the doctor in person to collect a script. The whole process can happen through telehealth.
